Children’s Ministry/Treehouse
At Immanuel, we believe in the partnership of church and family because when the two work together the spiritual influence on the next generation is multiplied. Each month our families are introduced to a Life Application. The Life App is defined as a biblical truth that God wants to teach you, so He can then do a work through you. To accomplish this mission, our children’s ministry has two environments on Sunday morning.
It begins each week with the Treehouse Family Experience (TFX) which we affectionately call “the place where kids bring their parents to learn”. We understand that elementary age children are open to, and still like hanging around with their parents, so we try to take advantage of that phase with TFX. At TFX, parents and kids are introduced to the month’s Life App and the week’s bottom line as they sing, laugh, play, and learn together in the same environment.
After TFX parents go to Immanuel Live, our morning worship celebration. While parents are at worship, their children engage in a small group Bible study where they dig in deeper to the truth that was introduced in TFX.
The Sunday morning experience creates great discussion starters for the ride home and around the lunch table immediately following church. On Monday morning each family will receive “God Time Cards” which are devotions that help our families to dig deeper into what was learned on Sunday and apply it throughout the week.
Our desire is to prepare every elementary age child for middle school by instilling in them the following values:
Trust – Understanding they can trust God and His word in anything and with everything.
Connection – Developing relationships with both other children and adults where they are loved as they are and where they learn to treat others the way they want to be treated.
Wisdom – Knowing to make decisions based upon the uncommon wisdom of scripture.
Student Ministry
The goal of Immanuel’s student (6-12th grade) ministry is to graduate young men and women while preparing our students for their calling. To accomplish this, there are seven things we believe they should know, embrace and possess:
- A Biblical and authentic faith they can know and defend
- Spiritual disciplines
- The ability to make moral choices based upon God’s word
- The practice of considering the “one anothers” of the Bible
- Walking with an uncommon wisdom
- Putting others first in thought and action
- Respect for the authorities that God has placed in their life
We accomplish those seven checkpoints through training in righteousness, large group worship gatherings, small group studies, camps, retreats, and mission opportunities.
