It appeared in the late 1970’s and early 80’s. It was a TV series dedicated to a search for things mysterious, puzzling or missing. It rarely solved the mysteries; it just asked the questions.
There is also a theme of “searching” woven throughout the pages of Scripture. Peter, in his letter to the scattered believers, warned them that their enemy, Satan, is like a lion searching for those who he can devour (1 Peter 5:8).
The chronicles of Ancient Israel’s history says that God is searching for people who are fully committed to Him. He does this so He can strengthen them (2 Chronicles 16:9).
Jesus even asked His disciples if He will, on His return to earth, find a group of people who are faithful to Him (Luke 18:8).
There are many other recordings of both God and the Evil one in search of people.
Satan’s sole purpose is to seek and destroy.
The LORD’S sole purpose is to seek and build, encourage, develop, and strengthen. Do you know the difference between the “In Search of…” TV show and the LORD’s “in search of”?
The LORD solves the mystery. To build a great faith, be faithful in the little stuff of life. How are you doing in the little stuff?
