An extra bonus atomic action we can take in our relationships is MODEL. It is defined as a three-dimensional representation of a person or thing. To MODEL is to also be an example to imitate or follow.
In our most important relationships what should we model? The answer is Jesus and what it means to be a healthy Christ follower.
Modeling is possibly the most important and effective way to cooperate with God in allowing Him to draw others to Himself. Consider the two following nuggets of truth:
- “Lessons are better caught than taught”
- “I’m sorry I can’t hear what you are saying, because your actions are too loud.”
In Paul’s instructions to the Corinthian church, he told them “Imitate me as I imitate Christ.” Peter told the Christian refugees to live in such a way that others ask for the reason you have such hope.
Some things we can model: Asking and offering forgiveness, honesty, faithfulness to His kingdom, compassion, service, integrity, and character.
Once again, the five atomic actions: Walk, Know, Choose, Speak and Model. Stack these small things together and witness the transformation.
